It is 2 in the afternoon in Downtown Los Angeles,
most people are nestled behind their desks, right?
In the poverty stricken section of Downtown
known as skid row, flocks of people huddle under
grimy card board boxes to stay warm this winter.
The stench of urine and grief linger in the air.
Meanwhile in the better area of Los Angeles,
velvet crimson ribbons hug lamp posts, and green
mistletoes are tacked on most businesses doors.
The aroma of pumpkin pie, candy canes, and jolly
children, remind us that christmas is just around
the corner.
Thousands of people in Los Angeles will be hungry
this Christmas. While most of us feel that
Christmas is about getting the hottest deals in the
stores. Its important to cherish the real meaning
of Christmas. Celebrating the birth of our king,
Jesus Christ. If you have never given back to
your community now is the time. Have a Merry
Christmas and a happy 2009.
